In 1968, a group of 22 community leaders from Malekpore and the surrounding villages of South Gujarat came together with a shared purpose.
They saw a widening education gap in their community and decided to close it — not with words, but with action. Their decision gave rise to Anjumane Talimul Muslimeen.

The founders' idea was simple and unfashionable: every child deserves an education, whatever their background.
In 1968, South Gujarat offered limited educational opportunity to children from underserved communities. The founders of Anjumane Talimul Muslimeen recognised that gap and acted on it.
What began across 35 villages has grown into a Trust serving more than 170 villages across five districts. The school, hostel, maktab and scholarship programme that exist today are a direct result of their foresight.
They didn’t build for themselves. They built for generations they would never meet.
